Giveaway: Free copy of The Animator’s Survival Kit!

The Animator’s Survival Kit by Richard Williams is a must-own book for any animator’s shelf, and Animator Island gave away a copy for FREE! Read on to find out more!

If you’ve seen the review here at Animator Island, you know it’s essential to have your own copy of Richard Williams’ Animator’s Survival Kit. Because of that, we gave away a copy to one faithful reader via Twitter! The contest is now closed, but here’s how it worked:

Between March 5th 2012 and March 27th 2012 visit any Animator Island article that has been especially helpful to you or that you’d like to share. At the bottom of the page click the “Tweet This” button.

Send out the tweet that pops up, the new #animgiveaway hashtag included, and you’re automatically entered! Then on March 28th check your Direct Messages for a note to see if you were randomly selected to get the book. You could even have entered using the Tweet This button on this very page, right below!

For complete rules and details visit the “Rules and Requirements” page right here. Giveaway is valid for anyone who meets the requirements listed.

The giveaway is now closed and the winner has been notified, so check your Direct Message inbox on Twitter now! If the chosen winner does not respond in the predetermined time frame a new winner will be chosen.

Wonderful idea. Really wish it had facebook support for all of us non-micro-bloggers though.

Good news for you, then! We’re working on getting a Facebook presence currently, so the next giveaway might include just that!

(I must, say, though, Twitter is pretty awesome. You should think about joining in the tweeting fun. :) )

Great Stuff! I already have that book, and I’m not into social networking at all, but when someone asks me, I’ll link them to your site anyway 😀

This book is great so if you don’t have it yet you should very much enter! I’ve had my copy for like 5 years so I don’t need it but someone is very lucky to get it for free because its very helpful.

Some of us don’t have Twitter accounts. We’re too busy animating and working to waste time with that. Just saying…

    • J.K. Riki says:

Well the way I see it is animation is a very social career. Generally you work with others, or at the very least SHOW others what you create. As such I see Twitter as an extension of work. It allows for sharing easily and quickly, plus you never know what great things you can learn from other animators you might never interact with otherwise!

      Just a thought. :)
