2 x LIVE classes – take your shot to the next level

Lesson 1 is all about developing an idea that is clear, fun and engaging. Because good animation is not enough; a great concept will make your shot stand out.

In lesson 2 we look at ways to raise the quality of your animation. We will focus on getting acting impulses right and fix many common animation mistakes.

After both lessons there will be a live Q&A, where we can discuss your animation questions.

2 x Personal Animation Mentoring

Consulting with a mentor is the fastest way to learn. Included in this workshop are two private mentoring sessions with Animation Supervisor Ferdinand Engländer. We can talk about your animation and your shot in detail, but also plan the next steps along your skill building path and your career.

2 x Group Critiquing

We will all meet as a group twice to talk about our ideas and work in progress shots. You will get input from a professional animator and everybody else can chime in and share their reactions, advice, tips and tricks. We can all learn from each other!

2D/3D Mentor: Ferdinand Engländer

Hey there, I studied animation at the Filmakademie Baden Württemberg and have over 5 years of professional experience.

I work as an animator, director and web designer, creating animated ads, explainer videos, video games and websites for various clients. I was the Lead Animator for the adventure game series “The Inner World” and worked on the BBC TV series “Patchwork Pals” as a layout artist and 2D rigger.

On Animator Island I like to hunt for what makes animation truly outstanding and what takes a story from the screen to a special place in our hearts.
