10 Second Tip: The #animtip Hashtag
Looking for a wealth of animation knowledge in bite-sized form? In case you’ve not heard, there’s a Twitter hashtag specifically for what you crave.
If you do a quick search for #animtip on Twitter you’ll find a lot of professional animators sharing secrets of the art form with anyone who wants to be in the know. Not a Tweeter yourself? That’s okay, you don’t need to sign up to search the database. (It is a great way to connect with other animators, though, including some very famous ones. You might consider signing up to help with your networking! And if you do, your first follow can be @AnimatorIsland 😉 )
If you don’t already know, a “hashtag” is what Twitter calls their categories (and anyone can make one up) by including the # sign before a word or combination of words. #Animtip is a quick way of getting “Animation Tip” across, without using too many of your 140 characters per tweet.
On Twitter already? Be sure to use the #animtip hashtag when you post great animation related info! Then anyone searching the set will see your stuff, and we can all spread our common knowledge together and reach the next level of animation mastery!
I’ve been on Twitter for a long time and I never knew about this! I just went through and found a ton of good stuff thanks for the info! I usually use the tag #animation and #art.
I’ll start using this one on Twitter!
I have Tweetdeck with searches for #animtip #drawing #animation #anime #comics and #cartoons that I check ever day. 😀
Thank you so much for this!
I’m on twitter and I never heard of this! I’m going to add it to my list of searches. Can anyone post using it or is it like just for you guys updates?
No, everyone can and should use #animtip! 🙂 We are just spreading the word. If you’ve got something animation related, definitely use the hashtag, that way more people get to see it! (We tend to tweet all out articles using the hashtag, so it’s a quick way to keep up with what we post here too. Or you can always follow @AnimatorIsland, hint hint! 😉 )
